Disability mobility aid distribution in Turkey

Overview

In Turkey, local government offices and various foundations have coordinated efforts to distribute mobility aids to citizens with disabilities.

In the Çarşamba district of Samsun, the District Governor’s Office, in partnership with the Dutch-based Samsun Association and the International Humanitarian Aid Organization (IHHNL) Netherlands, delivered 113 assistive vehicles, including electric wheelchairs and rollators. This initiative was supported by contributors from the Netherlands, Austria, and other European countries.

Similarly, in Kayseri, the Kayseri Governorate collaborated with the Büyük Sanat Foundation and the Europe Hand in Hand Foundation for the Disabled and Elderly to provide electric vehicles and specialized wheelchairs for amputee athletes. Officials at the event emphasized the goal of enhancing independence and social integration for recipients.
