Overview

BBC Studios announced a worldwide theatrical event featuring ‘Doctor Who: The Satan Pit Extended Cut’. The film is a newly edited, movie-length version of the 2006 stories ‘The Impossible Planet’ and ‘The Satan Pit’, starring David Tennant and Billie Piper. The release includes restored deleted scenes, never-before-seen footage, and an interview with director James Strong.

Initially scheduled for a one-night-only screening on November 23, 2026, to coincide with ‘Doctor Who Day’, the event was expanded to include encore screenings on November 28, 2026. These screenings will take place in over 1,000 cinemas across the United States, United Kingdom, Ireland, Canada, Australia, and New Zealand.
