Dog attack involving Jermaine Pennant
Overview
Former Premier League footballer Jermaine Pennant sustained significant injuries during a dog attack in a North London park. While walking his American Akita, King, Pennant was attacked by a German Shepherd.
Pennant reported that he intervened to protect his dog, causing the German Shepherd to target him. The former winger received four bite wounds to his right leg, requiring more than 50 stitches and a hospital stay. He indicated that he might require surgery for one of the larger wounds.
Pennant credited his dog, King, with saving his life, noting that the Akita fought off the aggressor and remained by his side until help arrived. Pennant stated he does not intend to report the incident to the police.
