Dominican Olympic Committee election process

Overview

The Dominican Olympic Committee (COD) has initiated the process to elect its new Executive Committee for the 2026-2030 period.

Initially, the COD Executive Committee announced the appointment of an electoral commission to organize the elections, which were scheduled for December 2. This commission was intended to be chaired by Samuel Arias Arzeno and included Dionisio Guzmán and Jorge Torres, pending ratification by the Ordinary General Assembly.

Following the assembly, the commission was unanimously approved by the COD assembly of sports federations. The finalized commission is led by Dr. Dionisio Guzmán, alongside Jorge Torres and Rafael Villalona. The election date remains set for December 2. During the assembly, members also approved the 2027 activity program and budget, which includes participation in the Lima 2027 Pan American Games and hosting an International Olympic Committee assembly.
