Dominican Republic EmprendeLab 2026

In late July 2026, the Dominican Republic’s National Council for Promotion and Support of Micro, Small and Medium Enterprises (Promipyme) organized the third edition of its entrepreneurship innovation laboratory, EmprendeLab (also referred to as Emprendelab). The event was announced on 21 July, noting that the program would open on 28 July at the Hotel Santiago Curio Collection within the Ágora Mall Santiago Center. The inaugural ceremony was to be chaired by Promipyme director Fabricio Gómez Mazara and would feature regional authorities, business leaders, entrepreneur Manuel Estrella and digital‑transformation specialist Chris Corcino, with the goal of identifying and scaling high‑potential projects in software, agrotech, commerce 4.0, techno‑industry and creative industries.

The following day, 28 July, the launch took place as scheduled. Gómez Mazara, joined by sub‑director Jhonatan Cabrera, presided over the opening, which was attended by Santiago mayor Ulises Rodríguez, provincial governor Rosa María Santos Méndez, Industry Minister Eduardo Sanz Lovatón and various private sponsors. Six finalist innovation projects were showcased, highlighting that EmprendeLab has approved more than 160 projects since its inception, positioning the platform as a bridge between academic ideas and market opportunities for young Dominican entrepreneurs.
