Dominican Republic infrastructure and sports development

Overview

The Dominican Republic has undertaken several infrastructure projects focused on public utility and sports.

In early August, the government inaugurated a RD$15 million traffic distributor at the Sabaneta de Yásica intersection to improve road safety and vehicle flow for travelers heading toward Moca, Gaspar Hernández, and Puerto Plata. Additionally, local officials announced a RD$9.03 million renovation for the Ceiba de Madera sports court.

By late August, the Ministry of Sports expanded its focus on national infrastructure. Reconstruction began on the Hermanos Suárez Municipal Baseball Stadium in San Juan de la Maguana. Simultaneously, Sports Minister Kelvin Cruz inaugurated a RD$274.3 million project to reconstruct the San Pedro de Macorís Sports Complex, which includes various pavilions, stadiums, and an Olympic Village.
