The initiative aims to reduce the need for residents to travel to San Felipe de Puerto Plata for legal procedures, complaints, or ministerial management, as part of a national expansion plan by the Ministerio Público to ensure justice is accessible in smaller municipalities and rural areas.

Attorney General Reynoso emphasized that justice must be accessible “where people live.” Recent developments in Puerto Plata, including a series of infrastructure inaugurations by President Luis Abinader, have further highlighted the regional focus on service decentralization. This includes the opening of the Justice Access Center in Villa Isabela as part of a broader effort to strengthen local services alongside new waste management, transportation, and educational projects in the province.
