Dongducheon City walking program expansion

Overview

Dongducheon City has announced the ‘FUN FUN Neighborhood Walking’ program as part of an obesity prevention management project. The initiative aims to encourage daily physical activity and healthy lifestyle habits.

Due to high interest in previous iterations, the program has doubled its capacity from 100 to 200 participants. Recruitment is scheduled for early October, with activities running through November. Participants will use the ‘Modu Runner’ mobile application to track steps, with daily goals varying by age: at least 8,000 steps for those under 65 and 7,000 steps for those aged 65 and older. To incentivize participation, residents who meet their daily goals will receive a 10,000 won Onnuri gift certificate.
