Drone activity and interference in Bulgarian Black Sea

Overview

In the Northern Black Sea region of Bulgaria, drone operators between Kavarna and Balchik have reported a surge in unexplained signal disruptions. Dozens of aircraft have experienced GPS lock loss or total loss of command. Aviation specialists suggest these disruptions may be linked to military activities in the Black Sea.

Following these reports of interference, an unidentified and largely intact drone was spotted floating in the Black Sea approximately 2 kilometers southeast of Tsarevo. The Bulgarian Navy and Border Police have been dispatched to inspect the craft to assess potential safety risks, such as explosives or fuel. Authorities have not yet confirmed the origin of the drone or whether it carries a combat payload.
