Drone technology education and training in Central Europe
Overview
Drone technology is being integrated into educational and specialized training frameworks across Central Europe. In Plzeň, Czech Republic, technical schools have introduced ‘Drone Soccer’—a sport involving drones in protective cages—into their curricula to teach electronics, programming, and problem-solving.
Beyond school-based instruction, drone piloting is being advanced through international competitions and intensive tactical training. Students from the Technical University in Zvolen participated in the V4UAVchallenge in Poland, a competition for Visegrad Group universities focused on First Person View (FPV) drone skills. Additionally, in the Czech Republic, specialized training courses are being conducted by Strong Europe and the Aeroscan drone school. These courses utilize practical insights from Ukrainian partners to teach combat-style drone operations, including navigating heavy loads and specialized observation techniques.
