Drug and weapon seizures in Turin region
Overview
In mid-October 2026, law enforcement in the Turin area conducted two significant narcotics operations.
On October 15, police in Torino arrested a 26-year-old man after raiding a basement in a residential building on Corso Ottone Rosai. Authorities seized approximately 241 kilograms of narcotics, including cocaine, marijuana, hashish, and ketamine. Officials noted the ketamine recovery was the “second-largest ketamine seizure ever recorded in Italy.” The operation also yielded 85,000 euros in cash, five firearms, and ammunition.
On October 16, Carabinieri officers in Nichelino, south of Turin, intercepted a vehicle containing roughly 500 kilograms of hashish. The interception followed a pursuit triggered after officers observed the vehicle’s rear shock absorbers were heavily compressed, indicating an excessive load. The driver reportedly failed to cooperate during the stop. Investigations are ongoing to identify the distribution network involved.
