Drug laboratory sentencing in Dokkum

Overview

In Dokkum, Netherlands, two men were sentenced by a North Netherlands court after authorities discovered a drug laboratory in a former restaurant. Investigations by the National Dismantling Facility (LFO) determined the facility was manufacturing PMK, a precursor used to create MDMA, rather than finished ecstasy. Police estimated the raw materials on-site could have produced enough PMK for approximately 360,000 ecstasy pills.

A 24-year-old man from Dokkum received a twenty-month prison sentence, while a 36-year-old man from Hoogezand was sentenced to thirty months.
