Drug seizure involving branded transport in Bolivia
Overview
In the Cochabamba region of Bolivia, authorities intercepted a bus carrying 86.5 kilograms of marijuana. The vehicle, operated by Buses Cosmos, displayed the branding of the Brazilian football club São Paulo FC. While the bus was intended for the club’s logistics during a Copa Sudamericana match, the club stated it did not use that specific vehicle and was not officially notified of the incident until it was reported in the media.
Three individuals, consisting of two drivers and an assistant, were arrested on drug trafficking charges. Buses Cosmos issued a statement denying institutional responsibility, claiming the illegal activity was the sole responsibility of the drivers.
