During this period, total aircraft movements reached 150,600, a 32.1 percent year-on-year decrease, while cargo volumes fell 28.7 percent to 751,340 tonnes. Despite the decline, the airport experienced a steady monthly recovery during the second quarter, with volumes increasing from 3.5 million in April to 4.5 million in May, and reaching 5 million in June. Paul Griffiths, CEO of Dubai Airports, stated that while the first half of the year tested the aviation system’s resilience, increasing airline capacity and demand signal a strong outlook for the second half of the year. By September 2026, Dubai Airports adjusted its annual passenger traffic forecasts, lowering the expected year-end volume to 70 million from a previous target of 100 million.
