Overview
Dubai is preparing for several large-scale fitness and community events, most notably the 10th edition of the Dubai Fitness Challenge. A central component of this initiative is ‘Dubai Ride’, scheduled for 1 November 2026, which will feature a 12km route on Sheikh Zayed Road and a 4km Downtown route.
To manage these activities, the Dubai Events Security Committee has coordinated with Dubai Police, Dubai Civil Defence, and the General Department of Traffic to ensure safety for various winter season events, including the opening of Global Village.
In addition to the fitness challenge, the ‘Proud of the UAE’ Cycling Race has been organized in cooperation with the UAE Cycling Federation and the Roads and Transport Authority. These cycling activities, along with other traffic incidents on major corridors like the E311 and E611, have resulted in morning traffic disruptions and prompted safety reminders from Dubai Police.
