Dynasty television series return to Serbia

The classic American television series ‘Dynasty’ is scheduled to return to Serbian television on Kurir TV, airing on weekdays at 17:00 and 23:10. Originally produced by Aaron Spelling and created by Richard and Esther Shapiro, the series follows the power struggles and intrigues of the wealthy Carrington family in Denver, Colorado.

The show, which won a Golden Globe for Best Drama Series in 1983, is noted for its significant cultural impact on fashion. Designer Nolan Miller utilized approximately 30,000 euros per week to create the show’s iconic looks, using glamorous dresses and bold silhouettes as tools for identity and communication.

Interest in the series is seeing a resurgence driven by social media trends and the upcoming Serbian broadcast. Historically, ‘Dynasty’ served as a direct competitor to ‘Dallas’; while ‘Dallas’ focused on the oil industry and Texas ranch life, ‘Dynasty’ emphasized European-style luxury and dramatic physical confrontations, even surpassing ‘Dallas’ in US viewership during the 1984/85 season.

In anticipation of the broadcast, presenters from Kurir Televizija have participated in character transformations to portray legendary figures such as Blake, Krystle, and Alexis Carrington.
