Düzce Municipality urban infrastructure renewal

Overview

Düzce Municipality is conducting extensive urban infrastructure renewal projects. The municipality first completed 41 kilometers of new water pipeline as part of a 45 million Euro project to replace aging systems and reduce water loss through technological monitoring.

Following these water network updates, the municipality has transitioned to a major asphalt and road renewal program. This initiative follows a “first infrastructure, then asphalt” principle to ensure durability. To date, the program has involved laying 48,000 tons of asphalt, with ongoing work targeting high-traffic areas and specific stretches such as Istanbul Avenue.

In addition to road improvements aimed at enhancing transportation safety and comfort, Düzce has been selected as a pilot city for a national project. This initiative, conducted in collaboration with the Ministry of Agriculture and Forestry and the UNDP, aims to promote modern wood building technologies. Recent reports indicate that Düzce continues its efforts through “24/7 asphalt mobilization” as part of broader regional infrastructure trends in Turkey.
