E-commerce logistics expansion in Brazil

Overview

E-commerce companies are expanding their logistics infrastructure across different regions of Brazil.

In late August, Shopper announced a R$ 25 million investment to open its first distribution center outside of São Paulo. Located in Brasília, the 7,000-square-meter facility aims to serve the Midwest region, including Goiânia, and is expected to create up to 840 jobs through the center and several new dark stores by the end of the year.

Following this, Amazon and ID Logistics inaugurated a 24,000-square-meter distribution center in São José dos Pinhais, Paraná. This facility is designed to accelerate deliveries in Southern Brazil, with the capacity to process over 700,000 packages per week and an expected workforce of up to 900 people during peak periods.
