easyJet withdrawal from Leeds Bradford Airport

Overview

easyJet has announced it will cease all operations at Leeds Bradford Airport effective January 5, 2027, ending a 16-year presence at the West Yorkshire aviation hub. The decision follows a network and route review intended to focus the airline on its most popular destinations.

Specific routes being terminated include services to Málaga, Palma de Mallorca, Barcelona, Geneva, Paris, and Belfast. The airline is offering passengers with existing bookings after the closure date either a full refund or a free transfer to flights from alternative airports.

While easyJet is withdrawing from Yorkshire, it is simultaneously expanding its capacity in Scotland, reaching record seat numbers across Aberdeen, Edinburgh, Glasgow, and Inverness. In response to the Leeds Bradford withdrawal, Ryanair has launched a promotional campaign offering ‘rescue fares’ for routes previously served by easyJet, while other carriers such as Jet2 and Wizz Air continue to operate at the airport.
