EBU sports media rights extensions

Overview

The European Broadcasting Union (EBU) has secured long-term broadcasting agreements for various sporting events.

In September 2026, the IBU and EBU extended their media rights and production partnership through the end of the 2033/2034 season. This agreement covers the annual IBU World Cup circuit, three IBU World Championships, four IBU Open European Championships, and four IBU Junior World Championships. Under the terms, the EBU maintains exclusive worldwide media rights, excluding Russia and Belarus, and will serve as the host broadcaster.

In October 2026, the EBU extended its agreement with Amaury Sport Organisation (ASO) and Unipublic to broadcast major cycling events through 2032. This includes both men’s and women’s editions of the Tour de France and the Vuelta a España, as well as classic races like Paris-Roubaix and Liège-Bastogne-Liège.
