EcoZani urban and cultural project in Kozani

Overview

The Municipality of Kozani has initiated the EcoZani project, a sustainability-focused urban development program. The project began with a public consultation regarding ‘urban acupuncture’ proposals intended to upgrade public spaces through a ‘3Z’ philosophy: Zero Waste, Zero Emissions, and Zero Exclusion.

As part of the broader European EcoZani project, the initiative has expanded into cultural programming with the announcement of the inaugural EcoZani Festival. Scheduled for October 2026, the musical event will feature international performers blending contemporary and traditional improvisation to establish a new cultural institution for Western Macedonia.
