Ecuador agricultural equipment programs

In July 2026 the Peruvian Ministry of Development of Agrarian and Irrigation handed over four modern tractors to potato producers in Apurímac, while Ecuador’s Ministry of Agriculture, Livestock and Fisheries delivered a similar package of four tractors, mobile agro‑units and land‑title regularisation to more than 200 smallholders in Chimborazo, Bolívar and Cotopaxi. Both initiatives aimed to double potato output and raise overall productivity for small‑holder farms.

A fortnight later, Ecuador announced another distribution of agricultural equipment and inputs – four tractors, eight mobile units, fertilizer bags and input kits – to producers across the coastal provinces of Guayas, El Oro, Los Ríos and Santa Elena, covering over 13 000 hectares. The continued roll‑out underscores an ongoing government programme to mechanise and modernise farming, lower production costs and strengthen market links, while parallel investments were reported in the Dominican Republic and Peru.
