Ediltrophy masonry competition regional selections

The Ediltrophy masonry competition, organized by Formedil, is conducting regional selections across Italy to promote technical skills, creativity, and innovation in the construction sector. These regional events serve as pathways to a national final scheduled for October 2026 in Bologna during the Saie construction fair.

In the Abruzzo-Molise region, selections were scheduled for Campobasso to feature teams of two masons competing to meet professional standards in minimal time. A previous edition in Sora included senior and junior categories and a special “Working in Safety” award to highlight protection protocols.

In Tuscany, the regional selection held in Arezzo at the Giardini Porcinai involved participants from all ten provinces. The competition required masons to construct masonry benches with planters, with judging based on execution quality, time management, and safety compliance. The winning pair from the province of Pisa, Massimo and Roberto Stabile of GLM di Stabile, secured the top spot in the Senior category and will advance to the national finals. The masonry works produced during the Arezzo event are intended for donation to the Municipality of Arezzo to improve local green spaces.

In Sardinia, the 18th edition of the event took place in Sassari, featuring eight expert teams. This selection included workshops on new technologies and digital innovation, as well as a roundtable discussion regarding youth education and employment in the construction sector. Winners from the Tuscany and Sardinia regional competitions are set to compete in the national finals in Bologna from October 7 to 10, 2026.
