Educational and political engagement in Calabria

Overview

Educational and political engagement initiatives are expanding in Calabria, Italy. In early October, thirteen schools in the region were selected for the European Parliament Ambassador Schools (EPAS) program for the 2026-2027 academic year. This program includes ten new institutions and three returning schools, aiming to help students understand European values and institutional functions through practical experience and potential study trips to Brussels.

Following this, the University of Calabria partnered with the association ‘Ali di Vibonesità’ to launch ‘Noi e la politica’ (Us and Politics), a three-year political school project. Designed to provide leadership training and cultural tools to youth, the initiative will initially involve 120 students. High-performing participants in this program may also be awarded trips to Brussels and Strasbourg.
