Educational and skill development programs in Europe and LAC

Overview

Educational initiatives in Spain, Ecuador, and Venezuela have focused on expanding access to learning and practical skill development.

In Spain, the State Public Employment Service (SEPE) introduced free online courses in digital skills, cybersecurity, and administration for various worker categories. Additionally, the Extremadura region launched over 200 adult education programs covering secondary education, foreign languages, and university access exams.

In Ecuador, the public education system opened 4,000 virtual distance learning spots for students from basic education through Bachillerato, including support for deaf students via sign language. Separately, the Guayaquil Municipality implemented the ‘Manos en Acción’ program to teach hygiene and disease prevention to approximately 300 students.

In Venezuela, the ‘Semilleros Científicos’ plan distributed ‘Pequeños Ingenieros’ (Little Engineers) kits to students in Maturín to promote technology, innovation, and scientific development.
