Overview

Egypt has achieved several international milestones in the aviation and tourism sectors. During the Alamein International Airshow and Space Exhibition, EgyptAir signed the ‘CO2 Connect’ agreement with the International Air Transport Association (IATA) to implement international standards for monitoring carbon emissions. This partnership allows the airline to link emission data with booking systems to display carbon footprints on passenger tickets. Concurrently, EgyptAir Ground Services obtained ISO certifications for quality, occupational health and safety, and environmental management.

Following these developments, Egypt received further recognition in the tourism and aviation industries. The French Tour Operators Association (SETO) named Egypt the best tourism destination partnership for 2026. In the aviation sector, EgyptAir was named ‘The World’s Most Improved Airline’ by Skytrax, rising from 68th to 46th place in global rankings. The carrier also received awards for having the best cabin crew and the best economy class in Africa.
