Egypt government employment and labor support initiatives

In late July 2026, Alexandria’s governor and the national labor minister unveiled a youth‑employment programme that expands vocational training, awards contracts to graduates and people with disabilities, and links small‑business support to private‑sector partnerships. The launch emphasized aligning training with market needs and President Abdel Fattah al‑Sisi’s broader labour‑market strategy. A week later, the government broadened the effort by advertising a series of salaried positions across ministries and a private security firm. The Ministry of Awqaf posted vacancies for researchers, accountants and clerical staff, while the Ministry of Labor highlighted high‑pay security jobs in 6 October City that include housing, meals and full benefits. Together, the two announcements show a shift from a region‑focused training drive to a wider recruitment push aimed at filling public‑sector roles and attracting workers to private‑sector security services. By early August, the Ministry of Awqaf formalized its recruitment for its General Department of Awqaf and Accounting, seeking legal researchers, accountants, and clerical staff. Simultaneously, the Ministry of Labor continued promoting high‑salary security roles in 6 October City, offering up to 12,500 EGP per month alongside housing and insurance. In late August, Labor Minister Hassan Redad expanded the scope of these initiatives during a visit to the Gharbia Governorate. The Minister distributed employment contracts and training certificates to support vocational integration, the inclusion of persons with disabilities, and the economic empowerment of female breadwinners. Furthermore, the Ministry approved a Mawlid al-Nabi grant totaling approximately 373.99 million Egyptian pounds to be distributed to 249,327 registered irregular workers across 27 governorates. Additionally, the Ministry of Labor announced approximately 1,489 new job opportunities across 13 governorates in collaboration with 41 private sector companies. These roles, which include administrative, technical, and manual positions, feature salaries reaching up to 30,000 EGP for certain roles.
