Electrical accidents involving workers in Mexico

Overview

A series of electrical accidents involving workers has been reported in Mexico.

In late August, two separate incidents occurred in Guasave, Sinaloa, and La Paz, Baja California Sur. In Guasave, a construction worker was injured after metal scaffolding made contact with medium-voltage power lines. In La Paz, a masonry worker sustained injuries after a metal rod made contact with high-voltage lines.

Shortly after, a fatal accident occurred in Campeche. A municipal worker died in the Fracciorama 2000 neighborhood after the metal extension of a paint roller made contact with a high-voltage cable belonging to the Federal Electricity Commission (CFE).
