ELPEN Athens LifeTech Park development
Overview
ELPEN has launched the Athens LifeTech Park (ALTP) in Spata, Attica, representing an €80 million investment. The facility is the first integrated biotechnology park in Southeast Europe and is designed to support the life sciences ecosystem through three primary pillars: a biotech incubator for startups, preclinical and clinical Contract Research Organization (CRO) services, and an education and conference center.
The project aims to bridge the gap between scientific research and entrepreneurship. During the inauguration, Greek Prime Minister Kyriakos Mitsotakis described the park as a “bridge” intended to combat brain drain by providing high-value opportunities for researchers. This initiative is part of ELPEN’s broader investment program, which is projected to reach €380 million by 2030.
