Elye Wahi transfer to OGC Nice

Overview

OGC Nice has officially completed the return of striker Elye Wahi on a season-long loan from Eintracht Frankfurt. The 23-year-old Ivorian international, who previously played for Nice during the second half of the 2025/26 season, was greeted by large crowds of supporters upon his arrival at the airport.

The deal includes a loan fee of approximately €1.5 million and features a non-mandatory purchase option estimated to be between €15 million and €18 million. This move allows Eintracht Frankfurt to reduce their payroll after Wahi struggled to find consistent form in Germany, where he scored only one goal in 25 appearances following his €26 million transfer in early 2025.

Nice President Maurice Cohen credited the INEOS group and sporting director Roger Ricort for facilitating the deal, which initially seemed unlikely. Wahi expressed his excitement about returning to a club where he previously scored nine goals in 19 matches and played a key role in the team's fight against relegation.
