Embraer C-390 deliveries to Uzbekistan
Overview
Embraer has delivered the first C-390 Millennium multi-mission transport aircraft to the Uzbekistan Air Force. The delivery ceremony occurred on September 25 at Embraer’s facility in Gavião Peixoto, Brazil.
Uzbekistan is the first operator of the C-390 Millennium in Central Asia. Under a contract signed in late 2024, the agreement covers a total of two aircraft and includes a comprehensive package for training, support, and spare parts. The acquisition is part of Uzbekistan’s broader strategy to modernize military air mobility and replace aging Soviet-era transport aircraft.
The delivered unit (serial number 39000019) was originally intended for the Brazilian Air Force but was redirected to Uzbekistan following a reduction in Brazil’s original order. The C-390 is designed for diverse roles, including cargo and troop transport, medical evacuation, search and rescue, firefighting, and humanitarian operations. It features a payload capacity of up to 26 tonnes, a maximum speed of approximately 470 knots, and the capability to operate from unpaved runways. When equipped, the aircraft can also function as an aerial refueler.
