Emilia-Romagna regional infrastructure and development

Infrastructure and environmental projects are progressing across the Emilia-Romagna region, supported by PNRR funding and municipal resources.

In Forlì, the Ronco Lido park is being redeveloped into a multi-sport facility, including tennis, basketball, and volleyball courts, to reintegrate the area following the May 2023 floods. In Riccione, authorities have initiated the construction of winter sand dunes to protect the coastline from erosion and storm surges, with further beach replenishment scheduled for early 2027.

Developments in Riccione have reached a milestone with the upcoming inauguration of a new 25-meter indoor pool at the Stadio del Nuoto on November 12. This 4.8 million euro project is funded by 4 million euros from European PNRR funds and 800,000 euros from the municipality. The facility features photovoltaic panels for energy self-production, gas-free heating, and advanced thermal insulation. It will be immediately operational to support the Italian Absolute Winter Open Championships, providing space for athlete warm-ups and preparation. The complex is designed for full accessibility with barrier-free paths.

Meanwhile, in Rimini, local business organizations are advocating for the reorganization of public land concessions for outdoor seating to support year-round economic activity.
