Emilia-Romagna regional student support initiatives
Overview
The Emilia-Romagna region has introduced several initiatives aimed at supporting students through educational programs and transportation subsidies.
Following a pilot program titled ‘Settembre insieme’ (September Together), which provided early-opening primary school activities for hundreds of children in Reggio Emilia, the regional government has launched a questionnaire to gather feedback from families and schools. This feedback is intended to refine the program for a broader regional expansion in the upcoming school year.
In conjunction with educational support, the region has opened applications for the ‘Salta Su’ program. This initiative offers free or discounted local public transport subscriptions for primary and lower secondary students, while high school and vocational students with an ISEE of 30,000 euros or less are eligible for discounts. Complementary support is also provided through the ‘Under 26 Pro’ campaign for students under the age of 27.
