Enforced disappearances in Balochistan

Overview

Tensions in Balochistan have escalated amid ongoing protests regarding enforced disappearances and extrajudicial killings. In Pasni, the family of an Arabic language teacher, Parvez Mazhar, accused Pakistani security forces of sheltering suspects involved in his death following his abduction. The family threatened to block the Makran Coastal Highway to demand the suspects be handed over to police.

In Quetta, the ‘Voice for Baloch Missing Persons’ (VBMP) movement has continued long-term demonstrations, marking over 6,000 days of protest. These demonstrations seek information regarding individuals detained by security forces and an end to extrajudicial actions.

Further reports indicate the recovery of several bodies in the Kech district. The bodies of Adeel Baloch, Mehran Baloch, and a 19-year-old student named Yasir were discovered in Sarnakan and Buleda. These individuals had been reported missing following alleged abductions by security forces, with some having been missing since late 2025.
