ENGIE global renewable infrastructure projects

In late June 2026, French energy company ENGIE secured a $230.8 million contract to build a 400‑km transmission line network in Peru, marking a major infrastructure commitment in South America. Less than a month later, in July 2026, ENGIE’s Indian arm closed financing of roughly $102 million for the 250 MW Khaba Solar Project in Rajasthan’s Barmer district. The Indian financing, sourced from MUFG Bank, Crédit Agricole Corporate and Investment Bank and BNP Paribas, will fund construction slated for completion in Q3 2026, enabling the plant to generate about 650 GWh annually and cut CO₂ emissions by nearly 180 kt per year. Together, the two developments illustrate ENGIE’s simultaneous expansion of power transmission assets in the Andes and renewable generation capacity in South Asia, reflecting a broader strategy of diversifying its global energy portfolio.
