The city of Ensenada, Baja California, has announced a program of activities to commemorate the 216th anniversary of Mexican Independence on September 15 and 16.

On the evening of September 15, festivities at the Casa Municipal esplanade will include cultural performances, a beauty pageant, and musical acts such as Vaqueros del Norte, Código 802, Sonora Dinamita de Lucho Argain, and Xiu García. Mayor Claudia Agatón Muñiz will lead the traditional ‘Grito de Independencia’ at 22:00, following the national broadcast by President Claudia Sheinbaum.

On September 16, celebrations will feature a civic ceremony involving civil, military, and naval authorities, including the National Guard, to honor the flag. This will be followed by a civic-military parade through the downtown area along Ruiz and Juárez avenues. Local authorities plan to deploy approximately 100 municipal police officers, fire department paramedics, and ambulances to manage traffic and ensure public safety.
