Overview
In Peru, the National Service of Environmental Certification for Sustainable Investments (Senace) approved 28 files totaling US$187 million in sustainable investments for the Ucayali region. These approvals included environmental impact studies for the Aguaytía–Pucallpa 138 kV Transmission Line and Lot 131, as well as modifications for Lot 31-C. The process involved 37 workshops and public hearings with over 2,200 attendees.
Broadening the regional scope, Colombia and Peru are advancing environmental strategies for sustainable development. In Colombia, the Ministry of Environment opened a call for the Environmental Compensation Fund for the 2027–2028 terms. Meanwhile, Peru’s Ministry of Environment presented a portfolio at the Peru Sustainable Summit 2026 aiming to mobilize US$5.8 billion by 2030 for climate action, ecosystem conservation, and sustainable development. The ministry reported that approximately US$500 million has been mobilized for territorial climate action in the Amazon over the previous five years.
