Environmental education initiatives in Vietnamese schools

Environmental initiatives targeting schools in Vietnam have been implemented through both corporate and governmental channels.

In September 2026, Toyota Vietnam, in partnership with the Agriculture and Environment Magazine, conducted programs at Trung Hoa Number 2 Primary School in Quang Tri province. This initiative, part of the ‘Toyota – Green Vietnam Journey’ agreement for 2025-2028, involved donating trees and playground equipment made from recycled tires, alongside an activity to exchange old batteries for seeds. The program aims to plant 323 trees across nine schools in Phu Tho, Thanh Hoa, and Quang Tri provinces during 2026.

Concurrently, the Vietnamese Ministry of Education and Training, collaborating with Vingroup’s Green Future Fund, launched the ‘Building Green Schools with Children’ project. This initiative is part of a 2023–2028 cooperation agreement intended to foster environmentally friendly behaviors among students and staff. The project targets 200 schools nationwide using a ‘7R’ model for waste reduction and recycling, with long-term goals of establishing a ‘Green School Map’ and a National Green School Exhibition.
