Envision Group technology expansion in China
Overview
Envision Group has expanded its technological infrastructure in Inner Mongolia, China, through large-scale energy storage and computing projects.
The company integrated an artificial intelligence management system into its 12.8 GWh battery storage network in northern China. This system utilizes machine learning to automate operational decisions, monitor thermal behavior, and optimize charging cycles based on market demand and grid conditions. The flagship 4-GWh Chagan Hada plant has reached full commercial operation following successful grid verification and trial runs in extreme winter temperatures. By interfacing with local electricity spot markets to analyze price trends and demand forecasts, the predictive software is estimated to increase lifetime revenue by approximately 20 percent compared to conventional storage assets. This facility serves as a central anchor for a broader storage network in the region, bringing Envision’s total operational capacity in Inner Mongolia to over 14 GWh.
Following these energy developments, Envision Group launched the Envision Galaxy Campus in Ulanqab. Described as the world’s largest AI computing center, the 120,000-square-meter facility is designed to support the parallel processing of 1 million GPUs with a computing capacity of at least 1 million petaflops. The center is designed to connect directly to wind and solar power sources rather than relying solely on the regional grid. To manage high energy demands, Envision utilizes a proprietary AI Power System to coordinate renewable energy, dedicated transmission infrastructure, and large-scale energy storage. Ricky Zheng, General Manager of Envision’s AI Data Center division, stated that this integration is necessary to provide stable, low-cost green electricity for such massive scale.
