Escenarios IMSS-Cultura program in Veracruz
Overview
The Escenarios IMSS-Cultura 2026–2027 program, a collaboration between the Mexican Social Security Institute (IMSS) and the Secretariat of Culture through the National Institute of Fine Arts and Literature (INBAL), is conducting cultural activities in Córdoba, Veracruz.
In mid-September, the program featured theatrical productions including ‘Bajo la piel de Puebla’ by Zeeka Teatro, which combines circus, music, and acrobatics, and ‘Fiat Lux – La teoría de las estrellas’ by Puente Serendipia for children. Secretary of Culture Claudia Curiel de Icaza noted the program seeks to promote cultural decentralization.
By early October, the initiative expanded to include contemporary dance with the performance of ‘Y entonces???’ at the Teatro del IMSS Córdoba. This piece, directed by Diana Lizbeth Gómez Córdova and María de los Ángeles Fernández Sosa, aims to strengthen regional theater circuits and provide adolescents access to contemporary dance.
