ESET AI and MDR security expansion
Overview
ESET has announced a strategic expansion of its cybersecurity offerings with a focus on artificial intelligence and Managed Detection and Response (MDR). At the it-sa 2026 security trade fair in Nuremberg, the company highlighted the necessity of continuous monitoring, noting that data from the ESET MDR Threat Report showed 25% of security incidents in the second quarter of 2026 occurred outside of standard business hours.
To address these risks, ESET is expanding its ESET PROTECT platform by introducing new AI-based security layers. These include ESET LiveCortex, which aggregates security events to provide prioritized context for analysts, and ESET LiveAI (formerly ESET AI Advisor), designed to automate complex security tasks through multi-step processes.
Furthermore, the company is launching an AI Security module to protect businesses using autonomous AI agents and AI-driven workflows. This module features AI Agent Security to defend against malicious AI components and AI Behavioral Monitoring to track and flag suspicious actions by autonomous agents. These developments follow ESET’s research into AI-enabled threats such as ‘PromptLock’ and ‘PromptSpy’. To support these advancements, ESET has committed an additional 40 million euros starting in 2026 to develop AI technologies for both cyber defense and client-side AI protection.
