Euro-Office open-source productivity development

A coalition of European companies, including Nextcloud, IONOS, and Open-Xchange, is developing Euro-Office, an open-source productivity suite designed to provide a European alternative to Microsoft Office and Google Workspace. Initially described as a development effort to move beyond browser-based use, the project has progressed to the launch of Nextcloud Hub 26 Summer. This release introduces a new Euro-Office desktop application that supports Linux, macOS, and Windows (including AMD64 and ARM64 architectures).

Utilizing the OnlyOffice codebase under the AGPLv3 license, the application allows for local editing of documents, spreadsheets, and presentations while maintaining compatibility with OOXML and OpenDocument Formats (ODF). The software facilitates offline editing and local file management with secure synchronization to Nextcloud instances.
