Europa Union Germany activities

The Europa‑Union Deutschland is conducting a high‑visibility public outreach campaign to mark the 40th anniversary of European Day. Starting on 7 May, digital ads were placed in train stations, subway stops and other prominent outdoor locations across German cities, with a video message from EU Commission President Andrea Wechsler. Organisers encourage citizens to share photos and videos with the displays and plan additional events throughout May.

In parallel, the organisation released the double issue 4‑5/2025 of its member magazine „Europa aktiv“ in e‑paper, app and PDF formats. The issue celebrates several milestones: Andrea Wechsler’s election as the first female chair of the Europa‑Union, the reconstitution of the EUD parliamentary group in the Bundestag, and regional branch anniversaries. Youth programmes included a JEF delegation to Serbia and a Parliamentary Europe Forum featuring Israeli‑Palestinian youth. The publication also previewed three major 80‑year anniversary celebrations scheduled for 2026.

Together, these actions illustrate the Europa‑Union’s emphasis on public engagement, communication of its institutional milestones, and preparation for upcoming centennial commemorations.
