European fiber optic hardware Wi-Fi 7 expansion
Overview
Telecommunications providers in Europe are expanding their fiber optic hardware offerings to include Wi-Fi 7 technology.
In Germany, Vodafone announced the addition of the FRITZ!Box 5630 to its lineup for fiber optic customers. Replacing the FRITZ!Box 5530, this model supports the Wi-Fi 7 standard to provide higher data rates and lower latency. The device features an integrated fiber optic modem supporting GPON and AON connections, with combined WLAN data rates of up to 3.6 Gbit/s.
In France, SFR introduced the Box 10, a dual-band Wi-Fi 7 router supporting speeds up to 2 Gb/s via GPON. This model serves as a mid-range option within SFR’s hardware lineup, positioned between the existing Box 8 and the high-end, tri-band Box 10+.
