EuroVolley 2026 and Bulgarian volleyball developments

Bulgaria is preparing to host several matches for the EuroVolley 2026 championship, which runs from September 9 to 26. The tournament features 24 national teams and is co-hosted by Bulgaria, Italy, Finland, and Romania. In Sofia, the Bulgarian national team is scheduled to play group stage matches against North Macedonia, Portugal, Ukraine, Israel, and Poland.

To support the event, Xiaomi has partnered with the Bulgarian Volleyball Federation to integrate technology into the fan experience, including interactive elements like a special photo corner. Nikolay Nankov, Country Manager of Xiaomi in Bulgaria, noted that the partnership aligns the brand's mission with the values of discipline and teamwork found in sports.

In addition to the international tournament, the Bulgarian National Volleyball League (NVL) is preparing for its new season starting October 31. The league is undergoing reforms, including a transition to a 12-team format for the following year and a digital transformation that replaces paper records with digital files and video match analysis servers.
