EverPass Media commercial sports distribution evolution

Overview

The commercial distribution of premium sports content in the United States has undergone significant structural changes involving EverPass Media.

Initially, DirecTV and EverPass Media entered a multi-year agreement to ensure that NFL Sunday Ticket and other premium sports packages, such as MLB Extra Innings and NBA League Pass, remained available to commercial venues like bars, restaurants, and casinos. Under this arrangement, DirecTV for Business acted as the marketing and commercial distribution partner for EverPass’s sports rights.

Subsequently, DAZN announced the acquisition of EverPass Media to expand its presence in the U.S. commercial marketplace. EverPass Media, which was founded in 2023 by the NFL’s 32 Equity and RedBird Capital Partners, holds exclusive commercial distribution rights for NFL Sunday Ticket and manages programming feeds from platforms including Netflix, Apple, Paramount, and Peacock.

Following the acquisition, EverPass is being rebranded as ‘DAZN for Business’. The deal includes RedBird Capital Partners, TKO Group Holdings, and the NFL’s 32 Equity investment arm as minority shareholders in the combined entity. EverPass CEO Alex Kaplan will continue to lead the business in an expanded role within DAZN.
