Exam paper leaks at Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya

Overview

The Indira Gandhi Krishi Vishwavidyalaya (IGKV) in Raipur, Chhattisgarh, has faced multiple examination irregularities involving leaked question papers.

In late August, an Entomology examination for approximately 1,200 B.Sc. Agriculture students was cancelled after the paper was leaked via WhatsApp. Following this, Chhattisgarh Chief Minister Vishnu Deo Sai ordered an investigation, stating the government maintains “zero tolerance for exam irregularities.” A five-member inquiry committee was formed, and an FIR was lodged to assist the Raipur Cyber Cell in tracing the leak.

Subsequent reports indicated further compromises involving a Fundamentals of Genetics exam. A university inquiry found “prima facie evidence of tampering” in the envelopes used to transport question papers, a pattern consistent with previous leak cases. The university has submitted evidence, including a leaked PDF provided by a journalist, to the Telibandha police. These incidents follow other recent leaks at the institution, including an August 22 event that resulted in the arrest of a professor and five students.
