Fable 2 fan-made PC recompilation project

Overview

A fan-led project has developed a native PC port for the Xbox 360 RPG Fable 2. Known as the ‘Fable 2 — ReXGlue Recompiled Project’ or ‘Fable 2 Recomp’, the initiative uses static recompilation to transform the original PowerPC code into C++, allowing the game to run on Windows without emulation.

Initial reports noted the developer used the open-source AI model Qwen3 8 27b to assist in getting the game running, followed by manual function mapping. The port provides technical enhancements over the original console version, such as customizable mouse sensitivity, gamepad mapping, and the ability to run at 60 FPS or an unlocked frame rate.

Users must provide their own original game files to utilize the port, which is hosted on GitHub. Future development goals for the project include implementing Vulkan support to improve graphics and performance.
