Overview

In late July 2026, creator Hiro Mashima announced a short‑term spinoff, Fairy Tail Re:Fantasia, to mark the series’ 20th anniversary. The first chapter appeared in Kodansha’s Weekly Shōnen Magazine (issue #35) around July 28‑29, and the run is slated for nine chapters, concluding by late September.

Fans reacted enthusiastically on social media, and the arc will be collected in two paperback volumes released on 16 October, including a special edition with 16 postcards featuring illustrations by Mashima and guest artists. A nationwide signing tour covering Sapporo, Tokyo, Nagoya, Osaka and Fukuoka has also been scheduled.
