Bethesda’s July 2026 roadmap confirmed ongoing investment in its flagship RPGs. Starfield will receive regular story updates and a 2027 expansion, **Starborn**, while Fallout 76 is slated for a 2027 pre‑quel DLC, **Raven Rock**. Fallout 5 entered pre‑production on Creation Engine 3, and graphical remasters of Fallout 3 and Fallout : New Vegas are being rebuilt with Unreal Engine 5. In the weeks that followed, Bethesda reiterated these plans. On 17 July the studio restated the remaster and Fallout 5 pre‑production announcements, and on 19 July it reaffirmed the Starfield and Fallout 76 2027 expansions. The same day a design‑phase expansion for Fallout 76 and a 30‑year anniversary event in Washington were added to the roadmap.

Community engagement grew when director Todd Howard returned to Reddit on 20 July, inviting fan ideas and prompting a request for an Oblivion remaster. A journalist, Jeff Gerstmann, claimed to have seen playable footage of an unannounced Fallout 3 remake on 8 July, though Bethesda has not confirmed the project’s status.

Further confirmation arrived on 5 August, when Bethesda officially announced the Fallout 3 and New Vegas remasters, citing the original games’ technical limits and promising visual upgrades. The overall narrative shows Bethesda, under Microsoft ownership, maintaining a multi‑year focus on Fallout, The Elder Scrolls, and Starfield while navigating studio restructuring and community expectations.
